Exciting Times for Friends and Family!
I wanted to take a post to brag on my friends and family. I have been catching up with everyone since I got home from China, and I’ve heard some exciting news!!
One of my girlfriends announced her pregnancy!! She and her husband have been trying for a while, and they were able to hear the hearbeat for the first time this past week. She is also about $100 away from her goal to raise money for the Susan G. Komen walk in October.
Several girlfriends have started their careers, one in teaching, another in nursing, one in the Navy, and another in theatre. One of my girlfriends is finishing up her Senior year in Computer Science, and opening a franchise in her hometown mall! They are all putting their college degrees to use, and I am proud to have such successful friends! To top it all off, I found out that one bridesmaid will be able to visit us on my birthday, and another will be joining us in CA for Thanksgiving!!
My brother, Jay, will be leading at Westmont University in several capacities. He’s on the activities council, and leading the campus worship services as well. My sister, Brianna, made A Capella Choir. She’s also taking AP courses, and getting ready to apply for college. I’ve been really proud of her, as she’s thought and debated about her college and career choices. My brother-in-law, Ben, is attending the Honors College at Baylor University. He wants to go Pre-Med, so he’s got a tough course load ahead… but he’s still making time to post pictures
My brother-in-law, Andrew, made the top theatre group at his middle school!!
I am incredibly proud and excited for my friends and family! Everyone has been so supportive of me and Matt, and I want to make sure that you all know that we support you too!!
Hi Ashley,
It’s good to hear all about your friends and family. You are right, everyone has been a big support to you, especially these friends and family you are talking about. I’m proud that you have surrounded yourself with such quality people, who not only contribute positively to society, but know what relationships are all about.
Love you,
Mom
Thanks for the “Faus Bros” coverage. Pray for Ben in these days, he has applied for a tutoring job with Community in Schools at Waco. He would be helping elementary and middle school kids at their school with class work. He had practice last year as a Davis Elementary buddy so I think this could be a real ministry for him as well as help pay his part of the tuition bill. There is a little opportunity for advancement too so that would be encouraging.
Andrew is doing great in his new school. He recently had a girl ask him via a messenger to the Welcome Back to School dance. He acted rather put off by it but I think he was actually complimented.
Glad you guys had a great time at the beach. Everyone tells me how beautiful CA is, can’t wait to see for myself. Love, Brenda
