The Dark Knight
Ashley and I went to go see The Dark Knight last night, and it was incredible! I enjoy action movies occasionally, but I generally never come out of them with a deep appreciation of the movie as a work of art. To me, action movies are just fun entertainment to fill your time.
The Dark Knight was a lot of action and cool James Bond-esque stuff, but it also had a great storyline, impeccable acting, and a deep exploration of social constructs and interactions. It was a little long, but I think this was required to get the point across that was being made. Life’s a comic book and new, crazy stuff is always going to be happening. Resolving one struggle only reveals the next one. All you can do is keep your head up and keep on fighting. FOR JUSTICE!
The one part in the movie where, in horror, I could not bear to look at the screen was when Bruce Wayne drives his Lamborghini Gallardo in front of a truck to keep it from hitting a victim. *sigh* What a shame.
So, I highly recommend this movie. The action is loads of fun while still having some depth.
I heard that the joker was really a scarey character, what did you think? I wonder if it would be too scarey for Andrew. I know it would be too scarey for me.
Yeah, the Joker was definitely very demented and somewhat scary, but it wasn’t really a gory frightfest. It was a good portrayal of Evil, but it wasn’t unnecessarily gruesome. Bottom line, I think my little bro could handle it.
I’m glad you think so because the guys went today. Andrew said it was definately a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. He loved the action in it and the joker was definately scarey.
I don’t know if I’ll see it or not. Jay says I really need to see the first two(?) for it to make sense….I’m terribly behind, I’m afraid it’ll be old news by the time I get around to it.
**sigh** so did the lamborghini take a gruesome beating?
Brie agreed the Joker was quite a scary character.
